If you had told me twenty years ago that I’d be living in the Netherlands, writing about leadership, belonging, culture, and life across different countries, I probably wouldn’t have believed you.
I was born and raised in India. I also spent time living in the United States before my career took me to the United Kingdom and eventually to the Netherlands, where I built both a life and a career. Along the way, I’ve worked in recruitment, HR, entrepreneurship, talent, learning, and leadership development.
For a long time, I saw these as separate chapters. Looking back, I realise they’ve all shaped how I see people and the world around me.
Moving countries taught me how much we take belonging for granted until we have to build it again from scratch. Starting over professionally taught me that confidence often comes after action, not before it.
Entrepreneurship taught me resilience. Working with people taught me that what we see on the surface is rarely the full story.
That curiosity about people is probably the thread running through everything I do.
It’s also why Tulip Talks exists.
When I first started writing, I simply wanted to share my experiences of life in the Netherlands. I made plenty of mistakes, misunderstood more than a few things, and slowly found my place in a culture that once felt unfamiliar. Writing helped me process that journey. Over time, the topics became bigger than the Netherlands.
I started writing about work. About leadership. About belonging. About the experiences that shape us, both personally and professionally. Today, Tulip Talks is a place where those stories come together.
I don’t write because I have the answers. If anything, writing has made me ask better questions. I’m interested in the experiences that shape us, often in ways we don’t fully appreciate until much later. Most of all, I’m interested in people. The version behind the job title. The parts of a story that don’t usually make it onto a CV or LinkedIn profile.
If you’ve found your way here, I hope something resonates with you.
